The floor is one of the most apparent surfaces that sets the mode of a room. Picking the right floor type is a very important choice to make. Many choices exist for different feels, looks, and budgets. The space, room, and budget are deciding forces that narrow individuals to a single product that will work for their needs. Refinishing & Restoration
Patch Work
Sanding & Surfacing
Staining & Finishing
|
 |
The most common type of work done on existing hardwood floors is refinishing. Refinishing a floor brings back that new look even if your floor is 60 years old. You can also choose to add a stain and give the floor a new color during this process.
The process begins by replacing any old and damaged boards. Next we begin sanding off the old boards and the varnish. Then we apply filler that matches the wood to fill any gaps or cracks. We sand the floor again and again to remove excess filler and remove rough sanding marks by using finer course sandpaper. When the floor is completing smooth, we screen the floor and vacuumed it perfectly. Finally we apply several coats of finish and further "screen" in between coats.

Staircases
Steps & Risers
Handrails & Balusters
Staircase Moldings
|
 |
Staircases and handrails are, in our opinion, the most difficult aspect of finish carpentry. A typical installation may take an experienced carpenter, with a helper, 4 - 5 days to install! Only a few of the finish carpenters in the trade can correctly install handrails and balusters.
Handrails and balusters installed correctly simply don't come loose. Handrail systems derive their strength and stability from the larger, often decorative, newel posts that are found at the bottoms, tops, and landings of staircase. If the newel posts are not securely fastened, the entire handrail system will shake. The thin balusters that extend from the handrail down to each stair tread offer little strength. Their purpose is to form the barrier so you and your children do not fall off the stairs.
